PTI upgrades Moody’s credibility rating after Moody’s upgrades Pakistan’s credit rating

ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) has raised international credit rating agency Moody’s credibility rating after it had upgraded Pakistan’s credit rating.

Though it has not changed Pakistan’s grade from B3, it upgraded Pakistan’s outlook from ‘negative’ to ‘stable.’ The ruling party, in turn, has changed Moody’s credibility rating from ‘part of Ganju Patwari Gang’s international abbettors’ to ‘credible and renowned rating agency.’

The ruling party had given the previous credibility rating back during the PML(N) government, when Moody’s had given Pakistan a favorable rating, reflecting well on the government.

“If Moody’s continues to give us better ratings, we might even consider giving (Moody’s CEO) Raymond McDaniel an extension in his tenure, as he is the sort of individual needed to help the organisation at a time like this,” said education minister Shafqat Mehmood.
