KARACHI: Sindh High Court’s (SHC) election tribunal on Friday directed a returning officer to recount votes cast in PS-116 from where Malik Shehzad Awan of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was declared winner.
A two-member bench, headed by Justice Yousuf Ali Saeed, announced the verdict on a petition filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s candidate Saleheen who came second in the election held in July last year.
In his petition, Saleheen had said that he lost the election by a narrow margin to opposing candidate and requested a vote recount.
