GUJRANWALA: A newlywed couple was shot dead by armed men over a property dispute here on Sunday.
Police said that the incident took place in Alam Chowk of Gujranwala where armed men of rival group sprayed bullets at a newlywed couple belonging to an opponent group with whom they were in dispute over ownership of a piece of land.
As a result of firing the couple which got married some two months earlier was killed on the spot while the attackers fled the scene after committing a double murder.
The bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem and the police after registering a case against the murderers have started raids for their arrest.
