RAWALPINDI: A newly-wed couple was shot dead over contracting love marriage here on Thursday. The attackers fled the scene after the crime.
Police said that the incident took place at Chakri Road Rawalpindi where armed men approached the couple in a car and sprayed bullets. Both Ikhlaq and Rimsha were killed on the spot in the firing.
Bodies of the deceased, who had entered in love marriage a couple of days ago without a consensus of their families, were shifted to hospital for postmortem.
The police after registering a case against the attackers have started raids for their arrest.
