Petition seeking PM Khan’s disqualification filed in the LHC

LAHORE: A petition has been filed Lawyer’s Foundation for Justice in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The federal government and the prime minister have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner took the plea that PM Khan took measures against the country’s sovereignty and incited the people to civil disobedience movement during the tenure of former PM Nawaz Sharif.

PM Khan also incited general public for not paying taxes besides stopping them to send foreign remittances while he attacked the building of the parliament along with his supporters and broke its gate, the petition added.

The petitioner prayed that it should disqualify the PM under Article 62 1/G and issue orders for launching proceedings against him under Article 124 A.
