THARPARKAR: A woman disappointed over poverty and malnutrition committed suicide with her 3-year-old on Saturday.
According to details, husband of 22-year-old Sharmiti hailing from Chelhar area of Tharparkar died one year earlier and her in-laws refusing to bear her and daughter’s expenses sent her to the home of parents.
Disappointed over poverty and malnutrition, Sharmiti committed suicide along with her three-year-old daughter by jumping into well.
Police pulled up the bodies from the well and shifted them to Civil Hospital Mithi where they were handed over to heirs after medico-legal formalities.
An environment of grief prevailed in the area over the death of the woman and her minor daughter.
