Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) jailed President Shebaz Sharif seems to be getting in further trouble in Saaf Pani Company (SPC) corruption scam as SPC’s Technical Team members have denied any interference in giving contracts to SB Company at an inflated rate, a private media outlet reported on Thursday, citing undisclosed sources.
The members immunised themselves of any charge while recording statements before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation team.
Technical team’s members further said that several people were involved in awarding contracts at higher rates. They further stated before NAB that the terms of even those contracts were not implemented.
According to media reports, NAB officials said that several questions were out before the technical team members against which the answers were recorded. Also, it said that contracts awarded in this regard had caused a loss of millions to the national exchequer.
