SBCA directed to remove debris from roads

The Supreme Court-mandated commission on water and sanitation in Sindh directed the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on Monday to remove construction material debris from the roads and footpaths, a local media outlet reported on Monday.

A compliance report has been sought within two weeks as well.

The SBCA director general informed the commission that all regional directors have been ordered to remove the debris in accordance with previous orders. The commission observed that may have been so but improvements were difficult to see.

The regional directors for Sukkur and Hyderabad also assured the commission on following directives.

On the other hand, deputy commissioner for Karachi East submitted a report on water shortage to the commission stating that a number of complaints had been resolved while work on others was underway.

Similarly, Mirpurkhas deputy commission was directed by the commission to submit a report on the supply of clean water in the district.
