RAJANPUR: Tariq Khan Dareshak, the MPA-elect for PP-296 (Rajanpur), passed away due to cardiac problems on Sunday.
Dareshak contested the elections from a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) platform during the recently held general elections.
According to reports, Dareshak was admitted to hospital several days ago due to deteriorating health but his condition continued to decline.
He had previously contested the elections three times – as an independent, on a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) platform and on a PTI ticket during the latest round of elections.
A by-poll will now be conducted for the PP-296 seat.
