KARACHI: A women and children protection desk at the office of West Zone deputy inspector general (DIG) was inaugurated by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khowaja on Thursday.
Only women police officials would be appointed to the desk to deal with cases of violence pertaining to children and women, according to the Sindh IGP.
Sexual exploitation of children and women is a heinous crime, said the IGP.
IGP Khowaja also said that it was time for the citizens to come forward instead of hiding such cases so that the police could apprehend the culprits.
IGP Khowaja also inaugurated a command and control room.
