IGP inaugurates police reporting centre

KARACHI: Sindh Police Inspector General AD Khawaja on Thursday visited the second police reporting centre in Karachi.

A police spokesman said that the ceremony to this effect was held at the Preedy Police Station.

Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Karachi South, Azad Khan, gave a briefing on the occasion.

He informed that the overall matters of this centre would be linked with the Central Police Office (CPO) through IT.

The people can lodge FIR, complaints, reports pertaining to loss of documents, police certification, character certificates, registration of domestic workers, registration and certification of vehicles, reports regarding domestic violence, etc.

The IGP said on the occasion that the time has come to change the `traditional police culture’ to bring the police and the people closer and this would also help in maintaining law and order situation in the city.

He stated that such centres would also be established in other parts of the province.

The IGP also gave away seven patrolling vehicles for police stations in Karachi South.

He also distributed commendation certificates and cash awards to the Saddar SP and Preedy SHO.
