ISLAMABAD: Unknown assailants on Wednesday attacked journalist Saleem Safi’s house and tried to forcefully enter it; however, they fled after a guard stopped them from entering.
According to media reports, two attackers tried to enter the house of the senior journalist in Islamabad; when the guard tried to stop them he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and a brick. However, the attackers managed to escape after the guard shot at them.
“The attackers were on a motorcycle and tried to take my weapon away,” the guard told a local media outlet and added that the unidentified men fled the scene after he started firing at them.
An FIR has been registered at the Shalimar Police Station and the investigations are underway.
