LAHORE: The Board of Revenue (BoR) gave approval for the buying of land for a state-of-the-art school for the children of policemen in Lahore on Wednesday.
“It is the fundamental right of policemen to get basic facilities as they work diligently day and night for the safety of the public,” Lahore Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said on the occasion. He further said that a state-of-the-art Police Public School would be established near Harbanspura and more than 7 kanals of land would be acquired at a cost of Rs 74.4 million for that purpose. The morale of the force would be further boosted as children of policemen would get free and modern education from the new school, he added.
Moreover, Ashraf lauded the performance of Cantonment Division SP Bilal Zafar as 77 cases were launched under the tenancy act while 13 cases were registered against those who breached the loudspeaker act in his division during March. Zafar said that 132 search operations were conducted last month in his division to maintain law and order in the area while 102 cases were registered for possessing illegal arms.
