Sindh’s Additional Inspector General (AIG) Operations Tanveer Odho Thursday ordered an inquiry into police action in Stargate area that saw 27 people wounded.
At least 27 people were wounded when police used force at people gathered near Stargate last week on Shahrah-e-Faisal in support of Faizabad protesters.
According to a notification issued from AIG Odho’s office, AIG Mushtaq Mehar has been asked to conduct the inquiry to “identify the circumstances” which led to the injuries, including those of two policemen, and “to determine whether the use of force to that extent was warranted or not”.
The inquiry report will be submitted by December 11 while Anwar’s leave will end on December 13.

Sindh’s Additional Inspector General (AIG) Operations Tanveer Odho Thursday ordered an inquiry immediately after AIG’s order for inquiry into the incident.
SSP Landhi Arif Aslam will serve in place of Anwar during the period, a separate notification issued by IG Sindh AD Khawaja said.
