CHARSADDA: The police foiled a major terror bid; arrested five terrorists with explosives, ammunition and other material here on Thursday.
According to reports, the police on a tip-off conducted an operation near Subhan Morr in tehsil Shabqadar of Charsadda district.
During operation, five terrorists were apprehended besides the recovery of 40-kilogram explosives, seven mortar shells, five remote control receivers, 10 hand grenades, 13 detonators and an improvised explosive device (IED).
Police claimed that the nabbed terrorists were planning to conduct a terrorist attack but prompt action foiled the bid.
The recovered explosives, ammunition and grenades were confiscated and the detained terrorists were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
