MA Jinnah Road, one of the main and busy roads of the metropolis, was once again blocked for traffic by workers of religious parties who gathered here on Monday.
A sit-in had been staged by the protestors at the main Numaish roundabout. They blocked one of the tracks leading from Numaish roundabout to Sea Breeze Hospital, closing it for traffic and causing hardship to commuters.
The vehicles entering into Saddar via Guru Mandar were diverted through People’s Secretariat, said traffic police. Similarly, traffic on Shahrah-e-Quaideen was diverted through Kashmir Road and Corridor-III, they added.
Protesters have been staging sit-ins at the major artery of the city for the past three days and have said that they will not move till the demands of the protesters in Islamabad were met.
