PESHAWAR: Peshawar Deputy Commissioner on Friday prohibited the writing and distribution of objectionable pamphlets and posters as well as wall chalking on mosques and imambargahs during chehlum under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

He also imposed a ban on the movement of Afghan refugees out of camps, playing of cassettes/CD’s in shops, open places, markets, sale and use of Fire Crackers and the use of loudspeakers except for the purposes of azaan and khutbas, said an official statement on Friday.

“Anyone found violating this order will be proceeded against under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and this order will come into force forthwith and remain enforced for 8-days (starting Sunday) unless modified or withdrawn”, said the statement.
