Police killed an alleged robber during an encounter in Korangi area of the city in wee hours on Saturday.
According to rescue sources, two unknown robbers aged between, 22 and 32 were looting people at gunpoint in near Noorani graveyard in Zaman Town, when the police reached the scene. The robbers opened fire on police team which was retaliated by the police.
During shootout for some time, a robber suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot, while his accomplice fled from the scene. The police also recovered a TT pistol, bullets, cash, cell phones and motorbike from the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities.
