Game of Thrones spoiler appointed PML-N president

LAHORE: AGame of Thrones Season 7 spoiler* has been appointed interim president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), informed sources privy to the development told The Dependent.

The party’s central working committee met in Islamabad on Thursday to give formal approval of the appointment.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday chose the spoiler* to become interim president of the party, till another long-term spoiler can be named.

Nawaz also discussed the spoiler’s* interim presidency with the senior party leadership at his residence, after organisinga screening of the leaked episode 6.

The revelation of the spoiler’s* name has expectedly generated a strong reaction from those PML-N members that hadn’t watched episode 6.

“Many have unfollowed each other, and some have even unfriended the senior PML-N leadership for sharing the spoiler,” confirmed a PML-N member wishing anonymity.

According to reports, senior PML-N leader and former Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan isn’t in favour of the appointment, believing that he himself has been the most high-profile spoiler this season.

Meanwhile, the opposition leaders and critics of the ruling party have described the decision as the latest manifestation of dynastic politics in the PML-N.

*Editor’s note: The spoiler’s name has been protected for the security of this publication’s editorial board, amidst growing threats from enraged Game of Thrones fans
