Faithful will observe the longest fast on Thursday which would be the longest day of the year.
According to the experts, on June 22, duration of daytime will be about 17 hours while the duration of night is going to be around 10 hours.
The duration of day starts to decrease gradually after July 1 and the period of day and night on December 22 gets equal. In this way, the night of December 22 is considered as the longest night of the year and the shortest day. It is to mention here that this happens every year, all over the world including Pakistan.
