ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has submitted details of the Hudaibiya Paper Mills to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Panama case, it has been reported on Tuesday (today).
According to sources, the entire record of all the businesses owned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family has been submitted to the JIT, which also investigated officers of the SECP.
Sources stated that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s confessional statement regarding money laundering in the Hudaibiya Paper Mills is also incorporated in the record.
Dar had recorded this statement before the district magistrate Lahore, Arif Nadeem, during Gen(retd) Pervez Musharraf’s presidency.
The finance minister dismissed claims of the confessional statement following Musharraf’s presidential era.
“I recorded the confessional statement under duress,” Dar had claimed.
