KHAIRPUR: The 60th meeting of Advance Studies and Research Board (ASRB) was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Wednesday.
The meeting was presided over by Shah Abdul Latif University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah.
Research and development are the need of the hour and the administration is committed to promoting a quality research culture at the university, said Prof Dr Parveen Shah, while addressing the participants of the meeting.
She said approximately 2,600 research scholars have been registered in the MS, MPhil and PhD coursework by the Directorate of Post Graduate Studies.
The vice chancellor said that the Directorate of Post Graduate Studies is working in right directions as per the Higher Education Commission’s criteria and research could develop the socio-economic conditions of Pakistan.
The board recommended awarding the PhD degrees to Baqir Ali Shah, Khalil Ahmed Ansari, Samina Rajpar and Waseem Ishaque in the fields of mathematics, botany, computer science, and international relations respectively.
The board also recommended awarding the MS and MPhil degrees.
