Indian groom refuses to marry as no meat served at ceremony

A wedding in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was called off when the guy refused to solemnise his marriage because there were no meat dishes on the menu.

The incident took place in Kulhedi village and the groom’s side got upset upon seeing that meat was missing from the platter, according to panchayat officials.

The state of UP is reportedly facing meat shortage after CM Yogi Adityanath’s gave orders to ban ‘illegal’ slaughterhouses. Moreover, prices of meat and poultry have also gone up because of the high demand and lack of supply.

The bride’s family tried to pacify the situation by explaining the meat shortage, but the groom’s family remained stubborn.

In a plot twist that one can only expect in Bollywood films, a guest at the wedding proposed to the bride on the spot and she agreed to marry him.

The couple was blessed by the panchayat and the wedding ended on a happy note.
