Lahore CTO to open driving license centres in educational institutions

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Ijaz Ahmed said that traffic accidents can be minimised by giving traffic related awareness to thousands of students studying in different educational institutions of the city.

“The city traffic police are always ready to cooperate with the educational institutions and the administration of colleges and universities has been directed to make proper arrangements for the parking of vehicles,” he expressed these views in a lecture at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) on Tuesday.

The CTO further added that special camps will be established in the universities to provide driving licenses to the students as they are the future of this country, and it is very necessary to impart traffic education to them.

He was of the view that the civilised nations follow traffic rules with complete discipline on the roads; therefore we want to start this process by imparting traffic education to our students in the first stage.

Officials of traffic education sector, UCP Director Tahir Ishfaq, and over 300 students of the university participated in the lecture that was also followed by a question-answer session.
