Social media reacts: The new Punjab Police uniform

A new uniform was recently launched for the Punjab Police’s 200,000 serving men and women. And while the black shirts and khaki pants had become iconic by this point, the change has been long over due. For too long have we been seeing those black shirts washed over and over again into a sick shade of indigo. The dark, olive-green shade of the new uniform however is a breath of fresh air, if only for the fact that it is different rather than aesthetic appeal.

uniform contrast The cops themselves seem to be quite excited as these two posing policemen showed in their mutual Facebook DP update

With only  a day to go until the uniform is officially distributed in the provincial capital, social media has quite naturally been blowing up with people reacting to the new design.

Some have been more than receptive of the change:

People seemed to be amazed by the practicality of the uniform

This guy went with a single word comment . . .

This lady felt so much love she decided to shower the police with prayers

This gentleman didn’t get a like back on his comment despite tagging the Punjab Police ðŸ™

There were people impressed by the fact that at least something was happening

A lot of people seemed to want the Police itself to change rather than their uniforms:

This guy was feeling really really deep . . .

And some people were just done with PP

Wise words were spoken

And this man wanted to do something about the police’s ‘mantle’ approach

Others thought the new uniform was a sazish but nobody could agree on what type of sazish

Like this ’eminent’ TV anchor

Are we the only ones that don’t see it ‘resembling to’ the Indian Police uniform? And does this mean PP shouldn’t carry guns either? Because the Indian police carries guns.

We could be seeing a Pashtun holocaust according to this insightful twitter warrior.

This person was pretty sure about what the inspiration for the new uniform had been:

Some people just didn’t like it aesthetically:

Wouldn’t a more musical police force be a good thing?

What have post-men ever said to these people???

And this person got so tired of the arguments that he ended up agreeing with all of the comments:
