Faisal Vawda says ‘Asim Munir is involved in possible US-Iran peace deal’

ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda said on Thursday that Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir was helping facilitate negotiations linked to a possible peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

In a post on X, Vawda said Munir’s role had expanded beyond the region and that he was contributing internationally to efforts aimed at global peace. He also said the field marshal was personally involved in drafting a possible agreement and would play what he described as a historic role.

Vawda said major world leaders could visit Pakistan within days or weeks in connection with what he termed a historic development in global peace efforts. He added that Pakistan and Munir were becoming prominent in the emerging world order.

Referring to Pakistan’s recent military confrontation with India, Vawda said Munir had played a decisive role and had delivered what he described as India’s worst defeat in war. In the same post, Vawda said:

Whatever analyses and claims are made in the world, all of them will prove to be wrong. The field marshal alone will make history in Pakistan’s capital
