Provincial Minister for Zakat and Ushr Naghma Mushtaq has said that the provision of financial assistance to the vulnerable segments of society was a national duty. “The Punjab government is taking revolutionary steps for the rehabilitation of destitute persons,” she said.
These views were expressed by the minister during a surprise visit to the Khanewal district staff office here on Monday. The minister emphasised that the staff should pay more attention to their duties for a better delivery of zakat and ushr.
She expressed her satisfaction with the regional audit reports and arrangements for the delivery of zakat funds to deserving people. Zakat and Ushr Director M Ismail and other concerned officers were also present on this occasion.
