SKMH becomes ‘largest’ radiation oncology facility provider

An inauguration ceremony for the recently installed two new latest radiation therapy facilities was held in Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.

Aamir Azam Bakht, the donor, inaugurated the facility, while Dr Faisal Sultan CEO SKMCH&RC and some senior staff members were also present along with Shahid Butt, the other donor of the facility.

While talking on this occasion, Head of Radiation Department Dr Arif Jamshed said that Shaukat Khanum Hospital’s radiation department has become the largest radiation centre throughout Middle East and South Asia with these additions. It consists of highly equipped machines like CT scan, Stimulator, Radiation and Brachytherapy. He further informed that as cancer treatment largely depends upon radiation oncology.
