CDA fails at monitoring weekly bazaars

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed to control the prices of food items sold at weekly bazaars.

Rehan Iqbal, resident of Sector I-8 said, “The CDA’s performance in providing relief to the citizens through the weekly bazaars has decreased gradually and it needs to be fixed by the new management.”

He complained that the vegetables and fruits sold at these bazaars were of inferior quality and it seemed the CDA has failed in monitoring the bazaars efficiently.

Irfan Khan, resident of Media Town, opined that the CDA’s weekly bazaar in Korang Town, was not catering to the needs of residents living in the adjacent areas. He complained that besides poor quality of the items different stalls sold commodities at varying prices.

When contacted, a CDA official said that the new CDA chairman is expected to address these issues very soon.
