Police allegedly tortured and brutally injured an accused arrested over financial dispute on Thursday.

Family members blamed that Qasim was arrested by Sadiqabad Police over Rs3000 financial dispute a couple of days ago.

They said the police during interrogation brutally tortured him, breaking his limbs and later dumped him from a police truck.

Qasim was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Rawalpindi.

Family members held protest against the police and demanded the authorities to bring the culprits to the book.

Meanwhile, SHO Sadiqabad Police Station rejected the blame and said the accused was involved in drug trafficking and got injured when he jumped out of a building during a police raid for his arrest.

He said that investigations into the incident were underway.
