We have been hearing these flowery words for many years: ‘Awam ki taaqat,’ ‘Taaqat ka sarchashma, Awam,’ etc. Now, there is a new phrase in the political market: ‘Awam ki Adalat’.
What is this Awam? Once Habib Jalib said in 1979 (when the total population of Pakistan was 90 million): Nao crore gadhay jin ka naam hay Awam. I think that was the right definition for us Pakistanis.
