Dacoits involved in hijacking oil tankers held

FAISALABAD: The Thikriwala police, in a leading case of robbery, arrested the four dacoits who hijacked an oil tanker, carrying furnace oil worth Rs 3 million, four months back.
Thikriwala SHO Haji Shaukat Ali and his team arrested a gang of four dacoits, Riaz and Abdul Majeed from Khanewal and Akhtar Khursheed and Muhammad Munir from Multan. The incident occurred near Sadhar bypass on Jhang Road.
During the investigation, the accused confessed to the robbery. On their pointation, the police undertook several raids to recover the furnace oil. The gangsters are allegedly involved in similar cases and more revelations are expected about the past robberies.
Hijacked trailer carrying Rs 9m cotton yarn seized: The CIA police recovered from Lahore a trailer snatched by dacoits from its driver on December 3. The trailer was carrying a shipment of cotton yarn worth Rs 9 million from Faisalabad to Karachi.
It was hijacked by unidentified gunmen near Chak No 276-JB, Jhang Road, at night. No accused has, however, been arrested. CIA police officials Sub Inspector Faqeer Hussain, Sub Inspector Muhammad Asim and ASI Imran Mannan raided a warehouse adjacent to a factory in Hanjarwal Lahore and recovered the vehicle loaded with the stolen shipment.
The trailer parked in the warehouse was located by the police with the help of electronic satellite tracking system installed in the vehicle. GANG-RAPE VICTIM SEEKS JUSTICE: The family of a gang-rape victim has demand action against the accused, alleging the Chiniot police are reluctant to register a rape case against them.
According to details, three days ago, 10 unidentified armed men raided the house of a poor worker in the village Jhangarra Galotaran at night and kidnapped his unmarried daughter at gunpoint,. Gang-raped the victim all the night in the nearby fields and abandoned her there in a state of unconsciousness early morning. The rapists also took away gold earrings from the victim before escaping.
The incident happened in the jurisdiction of Chenabnagar Police Station. The family and the villagers went to the Chenabnagar police station to get a case of gang-rape registered but the police asked them to get a robbery case registered. It is learnt that the culprits are known to the victim’s family and the police are reluctant to register a case against them owing to their personal influence.
The victim’s family and the residents of the village have appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, IGP Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar and Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ajaz Chaudhary to take notice of the incident and order arrest of the alleged rapists. They have also demanded the authorities take action against the police officers sheltering the culprits.
POLICE hunting for Rs 7m fraud accused: The police are hunting for the cashier who withdrew more than Rs seven million by making fake entries in the bank records. The Thikriwala police registered a fraud case on the complaint of the bank manager, Muhammad Mahmood, against the cashier, Rana Muhammad Saeed of Chak No 363 JB and his two accomplices, Rana Adnan of Chak No 275 JB and Ghulam Mustafa of Chak No 81 JB under sections 420 and 409 of PPC.
Rana Adnan and Ghulam Mustafa have already been arrested while the police are hunting for the main accused, Rana Mohammad Saeed. According to details, a private bank employee, Rana Muhammad Saeed, withdrew a total amount of Rs 7.725 million from Pansara and Bhawana branches of the bank through fake entries, using the online banking system.
