Greaves puts West Indies 29 ahead after Pakistan bowled out for 282

Justin Greaves produced a decisive spell on day three of the first Test as West Indies dismissed Pakistan for 282 to take a 29-run first-innings lead at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Monday.

Pakistan resumed after lunch at 267-8 in reply to West Indies' 311, but added only 15 more runs before the innings ended in 80.1 overs. Greaves finished with 5-27 in 11 overs to register his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

The collapse resumed quickly in the second session when Greaves removed Mohammad Abbas for nought. Khurram Shahzad then added 19 from 36 balls in a lower-order effort before Kemar Roach ended his stay.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan had advanced from their overnight 199-3 through a solid stand between Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha. The pair added 47 for the fourth wicket, with Masood going on to complete his seventh Test hundred and his first since Babar Azam replaced him as Pakistan Test captain.

West Indies broke through when Shamar Joseph dismissed Agha for a cautious 20 off 60 balls, an innings containing three boundaries. Greaves then struck a major blow by bowling Masood for 109 from 184 deliveries after the left-hander had hit 12 fours.

Greaves continued through Pakistan's middle and lower order, removing Aamir Jamal for three, debutant Ali Usman for nought and Rizwan for 12 as the tourists slid to 259-8. Roach and Shamar Joseph claimed two wickets apiece, while Jayden Seales took one.
