Petrol, diesel prices likely to rise in next fortnightly review

ISLAMABAD: Petrol and high-speed diesel prices are expected to increase in the upcoming fortnightly petroleum price review due to rising international oil prices and changes in import costs.

According to estimates, petrol could become costlier by around Rs6.60 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel may increase by approximately Rs5.27 per litre.

The final decision will be taken by the federal government after reviewing recommendations based on global oil prices, the exchange rate and applicable taxes and levies.

If approved, the revised prices will take effect from midnight following the official announcement and remain in force for the next 15 days.

Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every fortnight to reflect changes in international market trends and domestic pricing components.
