Spain overpower France to reach first World Cup final since 2010
Spain beat France 2-0 in Arlington to reach their first World Cup final since 2010. Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro scored as Spain controlled the semi-final and shut down France's attack.

ARLINGTON: Spain booked their place in the World Cup final for the first time since 2010 after defeating France 2-0 in Tuesday's semi-final in Texas, with Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro scoring in a one-sided contest.
Spain, the reigning European champions, controlled possession for long stretches, set the tempo and gave France's highly rated attack little room to operate. The result sends Spain into Sunday's final, where they will face the winners of Wednesday's semi-final between England and Argentina in Atlanta.
France, who had not fallen behind at any stage of the tournament before Tuesday, were left to settle for a third-place playoff after being outplayed. Coach Didier Deschamps said his side had been second best on the technical side and acknowledged that Spain had disrupted France's rhythm.
Speaking after the game, Porro described the occasion as beyond anything he had imagined.
