Nat Sciver-Brunt and Heather Knight rescued England from an early collapse before the hosts beat South Africa by 40 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-final. England will face Australia in Sunday’s final at Lord’s.

LONDON: England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt marked her return from injury with a match-winning 75 as the hosts beat South Africa by 40 runs in their Women’s T20 World Cup semi-final at the Oval on Thursday, setting up a title clash against Australia at Lord’s.
Asked to bat first, England stumbled to 23-3 inside the opening four overs, raising the prospect of another setback in a knockout match. Sciver-Brunt, back after missing England’s last three group games with a calf problem, then led the recovery in front of a crowd of more than 21,000. She and former captain Heather Knight, the two remaining members of England’s 2017 50-over World Cup-winning side, shared a fourth-wicket stand of 133 to lift their team to 169-5.
Sciver-Brunt was named player of the match and said the occasion had brought added emotion on her return.
