Asim Azhar just reopened the Hania Aamir chapter of his Instagram

Asim Azhar thought fans would enjoy a trip down memory lane.

The internet had... other plans.

The Pakistani singer recently unarchived more than 600 old Instagram posts, bringing years of photos, videos and personal memories back to his profile after repeated requests from fans.

Announcing the move, Asim joked: "Enjoy some cringe moments & you're welcome."

The restored archive featured everything from old performances and career milestones to behind-the-scenes moments and personal photos. But within minutes, social media had locked onto one thing—and one thing only.

Fans quickly began digging through the archive, sharing screenshots and revisiting the posts from the time when Asim and Hania were one of Pakistan's most talked-about celebrity pairings.

Entertainment pages soon followed, with much of the coverage focusing almost exclusively on the photos featuring Hania rather than the hundreds of other posts Asim had restored.

That prompted the singer to respond.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Asim appeared amused—and just a little frustrated. "Guys, I wish our beloved media would show my other 600 posts too that I've unarchived. Some of my genuine fans have been requesting for a while that I unarchive my posts, my journey, my achievements, so I did that, but I swear, bro," he wrote.

The singer had intended the unarchive as a look back at his journey, but the internet had already decided what its favourite chapter was.

Asim Azhar and Hania Aamir were widely believed to have been in a relationship for several years, though neither has publicly discussed the details of their personal lives.

Years later, it seems one thing hasn't changed.
