Interior ministry orders arrest of undocumented Afghans from July 10
The interior ministry has ordered authorities nationwide to arrest Afghan nationals living in Pakistan without valid visas from July 10. The directive follows a June 1 review meeting on the Illegal Foreigners’ Repatriation Plan.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has directed authorities across the country to arrest Afghan nationals staying in Pakistan without valid visas from July 10, according to an official notification issued on Sunday.
The order was sent to the chief secretaries of all provinces, the administrations of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the chief commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory. The ministry said the move followed decisions taken at a June 1 review meeting on the Illegal Foreigners’ Repatriation Plan.
According to the notification, provincial governments, special area administrations and the ICT administration were told at that meeting to speed up the repatriation and deportation of Afghan nationals, including those whose visas had expired, and to strictly enforce the repatriation plan.
"With effect from July 10, 2026, any Afghan national found residing in Pakistan without a valid visa shall be arrested immediately," the notification stated.
The ministry also said the relevant authorities should be issued the necessary directions for implementation of the order.
