Geo News reports repeated hacking attempts on its digital platforms

ISLAMABAD: Geo News has reported that its websites and social media platforms have been targeted by repeated hacking attempts over the last 10 days, with the apparent aim of posting unauthorised material.
According to the organisation, the attempted intrusions were intended to compromise its digital platforms and publish content chosen by the hackers. Its digital team has been working continuously to counter the activity and has managed to block several such attempts.
The organisation said it has informed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority about the matter and asked the regulator to take steps to stop any unauthorised content from being uploaded and to address the issue without delay.
It has started legal proceedings in connection with the hacking attempts.
