KARACHI: Funeral prayers were offered on Sunday for Rangers personnel who were martyred while repelling a terrorist attack in Karachi, with senior civil and military officials joining the families of the deceased in mourning.

The gathering paid tribute to the dead and expressed condolences to their families.

Speaking at the occasion, Naqvi said the attack was a grave tragedy and vowed action against those responsible. "This terrorist incident is deeply tragic, and its account will be settled. The terrorist elements - wherever they may be - will be pursued by our security forces and brought to justice. No stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators face the full force of the law," her said.

Governor Hashmi condemned the attack and said the fight against militancy would continue. "We strongly condemn terrorism and will continue our struggle for its complete eradication from the country. Indian-sponsored terrorism will never be tolerated. We will not rest until terrorism is uprooted entirely from our soil," he said.

Chief Minister Shah said the Rangers personnel lost their lives while frustrating the plans of the attackers and praised their conduct. "The brave Rangers personnel attained martyrdom while foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists. We salute their courage and sacrifice. We stand firmly with the security forces in the complete elimination of terrorism from the country."
