Two bodies recovered in Mastung

QUETTA: Two unidentified bodies were found near the Sheikh Wassil area of Mastung on Sunday, police said, as authorities also reported separate security incidents in Kech district and Surab.

According to police, the bodies were moved to a hospital and later shifted to the morgue for identification. They said an investigation into the case was under way.

In Kech district, unidentified armed men opened fire on police personnel assigned to protect optic fibre workers engaged in cable repair work. The firing wounded one policeman, who was taken to hospital.

In another incident, a bomb exploded near a bridge on the N-25 National Highway in the Surab area. Officials said the blast caused minor damage to the bridge structure. Security personnel sealed off the area, halted traffic on the highway and collected evidence from the site before traffic was restored after security measures were completed.
