NDMA issues flood alert until June 20
The NDMA has warned of heavy rain, strong winds and possible flood-like conditions in northern and upper parts of Pakistan until June 20. Punjab areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Murree are among the locations likely to receive thunderstorms and rain.

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather alert for the northern and upper parts of the country, warning of heavy rain, strong winds and possible flood-like conditions through June 20.
According to the NDMA advisory issued on Tuesday, a westerly weather system is expected to affect these areas during the period. The authority said the system could bring thunderstorms, gusty winds and scattered rainfall, while hail may also occur at some places.
In Punjab, the alert covers Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Gujar Khan, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Hafizabad, along with other cities. The advisory indicated that thunderstorms and rain were likely in these areas.
The warning remains in place until June 20 as authorities monitor the incoming weather system and its impact on upper and northern regions.
