BANNU: Police recovered the bodies of four men from the Nala Kasho area along Domel Link Road in Bannu district on Tuesday and said they had been shot dead by unidentified attackers.
According to Domel police, the deceased were identified as Abdul Rauf alias Kaka Waziristani, his two sons and a nephew. After receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the site and shifted the bodies to hospital to complete legal formalities.
Police said a case had been registered on the complaint of the SHO Domel and that the investigation was under way from multiple angles. Officials said evidence was being collected to establish the motive for the killings and identify those responsible. Local sources claimed that Rauf was considered a supporter of the security institutions, but there was no official confirmation or statement from the authorities on that claim.
Families disown missing relatives after police allegations
In a separate development in Bannu, two residents of the Pirat Kalla Mamakhel area publicly disassociated themselves from missing relatives after police informed them that the missing persons were allegedly involved in anti-state activities.
Speaking at a press conference at Bannu Press Club, Akhtar Ali Khan said he had formally disowned his son, Javed, who had been missing for the past nine months and was recently reported by police to be involved in anti-state activities.
Similarly, Mohammad Zubair Khan said his 14-year-old orphaned nephew, Abdullah, had also been missing for the same period and was allegedly found to be involved in anti-state activities. He also announced complete dissociation from his nephew.
Both men said they had lodged missing persons reports soon after their relatives disappeared. They appealed to the authorities not to harass their families and said they neither supported nor were responsible for any alleged unlawful activities.
