Court reserves ruling on bail pleas in Pinky money laundering case

KARACHI: A district and sessions court on Friday reserved its decision on the bail applications of two men accused of facilitating money laundering in the case linked to alleged drug dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky.

The matter came up before the district and sessions judge, who heard submissions from both the defence and the prosecution before withholding the order. The bail pleas were filed by Sohail-ur-Rehman and Zeeshan-ur-Rehman.

According to the investigating officer, the two accused were allegedly involved in laundering proceeds of crime connected to Pinky, who has been referred to in the case as the Cocaine Queen. The officer told the court that after Pinky’s bank accounts were frozen, transactions were allegedly channelled through Samir with the help of the two applicants.

The investigating officer further alleged that Sohail-ur-Rehman and Zeeshan-ur-Rehman used accounts associated with Samir to buy properties. He also told the court that payments for narcotics raw material were made through the same accounts. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict on the bail requests.
