LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested five suspects over alleged online harassment of women in Lahore and Faisalabad, according to the agency.
The NCCIA said two suspects, Nadeem Ahmed and Muhammad Ahsan, were taken into custody in Lahore for allegedly circulating defamatory and obscene material related to women through social media and other digital platforms.
The agency said a suspect identified as Khan, a resident of Kasur, was also arrested for allegedly posting objectionable content against women on TikTok. In Faisalabad, NCCIA teams arrested Zulfiqar and Rehan during a raid. The agency alleged that one of them shared a woman’s objectionable photos and videos through WhatsApp, while the other blackmailed a woman by threatening to upload her pictures.
