Five arrested as police seize drugs, gutka and illegal weapons in separate raids
Police said five suspects were arrested in separate operations on Sunday as officers seized charas, gutka, mainpuri and an illegal weapon. A mini-truck carrying hidden gutka was intercepted, though its driver and accomplices fled.

KARACHI: Police arrested five suspects and seized narcotics, gutka and illegal weapons in separate operations carried out on Sunday, according to a police spokesperson.
The spokesperson said police, acting on a tip-off, stopped a white mini-truck arriving from Tando Allahyar near Abro Mor at Kasana Mori. During the search, officers found 137 packets of hazardous gutka, containing around 15,070 sachets, concealed in hidden compartments beneath cartons of poultry. The truck driver, Adnan Pathan, and his accomplices managed to escape on foot.
In another raid, SHO Hali Road Inspector Ghulam Farooq Rahpoto arrested alleged drug supplier Muhammad Atif Tanoli and recovered 2.57 kilogrammes of charas. Police also took into custody the motorcycle that was being used to transport the drugs. In a separate operation, police arrested Khanzaib Awan, identified as a mainpuri seller, and seized 200 packets of mainpuri. Another suspect, Nafees Panhwar, was held with an illegal pistol and bullets, the spokesperson said.
Separately, SHO Rahuki Sub-Inspector Noor Shahbaz Rand thwarted an attempt to smuggle raw material and prepared mainpuri near Tando Hyderabad Link Road Mor. Police recovered 100 packets of finished mainpuri and 78 kilogrammes of raw material packed in six sacks from a car, and arrested supplier Umair Khan Yousufzai. The vehicle was also impounded.
