LAHORE: Abbottabad won the National T20 Cup 2026 title on Sunday after beating Karachi Whites by nine wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium.
The title match had originally been scheduled for March 19 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, but persistent rain and a waterlogged outfield forced its postponement. The fixture was later shifted and eventually played in Lahore.
Abbottabad chase down 119 with ease
Set 119 for victory, Abbottabad completed the chase in 13.5 overs in a one-sided finish. Opener Shahzaib Khan anchored the innings with an unbeaten half-century, while Kamran Ghulam provided brisk support at the other end.
Abbottabad lost only one wicket in the pursuit. Afaq Khan was dismissed for 13 off 17 balls after hitting one four. Shahzaib stayed unbeaten on 54 from 41 deliveries, striking three fours and four sixes. Kamran remained not out on 45 off 26 balls, with three fours and three sixes.
Karachi Whites struggle after being sent in
Earlier, Karachi Whites were bowled out for 118 in 18.3 overs as Abbottabad maintained control through a disciplined bowling effort. Karachi never built momentum, losing wickets regularly and failing to put together meaningful stands. Only one batter crossed the 20-run mark.
Saqib Khan, batting in the lower order, top-scored with 22 off 22 balls, hitting two fours and a six. Captain Saud Shakeel made 17 from 18 deliveries with two boundaries before being dismissed by Shahab Khan. Abdullah Fazal managed six off four balls, including a boundary, before Arshad Iqbal bowled him.
Haroon Arshad and Shan Masood were dismissed for 13 and 16 respectively as Mohammad Wasim and Arshad Iqbal struck in quick succession. Saifullah Bangash scored six before falling to Razaullah, while Khawaja Nafay made 10 off 14 balls with one four before becoming Arshad's third wicket of the innings.
Abbottabad captain Shadab Khan then made an immediate impact by removing Danish Aziz for six off 14 balls. Razaullah added another wicket when he dismissed Mohammad Umer for three, and Shadab claimed his second scalp by ending Saqib Khan's resistance. Shahab Khan wrapped up the innings with the wicket of Abrar Ahmed, who scored seven, as Abbottabad sealed the title with a dominant all-round display.
