Tribal elder killed in Dalbandin market shooting

QUETTA: A tribal elder was shot dead in Dalbandin Bazaar, while a later retaliatory attack left another man wounded, police said on Monday.
Officials said unidentified attackers opened fire on Haji Abdul Bari Reki in the Dalbandin market, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to hospital for treatment but later died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said that after the shooting, relatives of the deceased allegedly opened fire and injured Mohammad Arif Reki. He was given initial medical treatment before being shifted to a hospital, officials added.
According to police officials, both sides belong to the same tribe and had been involved in a dispute, though the exact motive behind the shooting had not been officially confirmed. Law enforcement agencies and the local administration have started an investigation to establish the circumstances of the killing and the subsequent attack. No arrests had been reported till late Monday night.
