Seven missing after tourist jeep plunges into ravine near Fairy Meadows

GILGIT: Seven people went missing after a tourist jeep travelling to Fairy Meadows in Diamer district fell into a ravine and was swept away in Tattu Nullah on Monday, according to Gilgit-Baltistan police.

A GB police spokesperson said the accident took place at about 3pm on Tattu Raikot Road. Initial reports indicated that all six tourists in the vehicle and the driver were missing.

The spokesperson said two of the tourists were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and four were from Punjab. The driver was identified as a resident of the Dareel area of Diamer district.

Police and rescue teams reached the site and a search operation was under way for the missing persons, the spokesperson said.
