Fire incidents destroy over 65 homes in Balochistan
More than 65 homes were destroyed in separate fire incidents across Balochistan, officials said. The largest blaze in Goth Mehboob Khoso near Sohbatpur burnt about 50 houses, while a shopkeeper was killed in Quetta after suspects torched his shop.

QUETTA: A string of fire incidents in different parts of Balochistan destroyed more than 65 homes, officials said on Saturday, with some of the blazes linked to electrical short circuits.
The worst-hit area was Goth Mehboob Khoso near Sohbatpur, where a fire said to have been sparked by a short circuit spread quickly through the settlement. According to the local administration, about 50 houses were completely gutted. The affected families were left without shelter and were living in the open in severe summer heat while awaiting relief and assistance from the authorities.
Other fire incidents were reported in Dera Murad Jamali and Usta Muhammad. In Goth Khoso Bedar near Dera Murad Jamali, three houses were destroyed after a fire broke out. In Usta Muhammad, a house owned by Daulat Ali Umrani was burnt after flames suddenly engulfed the building. Another fire in Goth Samandar destroyed five houses.
Separately, in the Manzoor Shaheed police station area of Quetta, a shopkeeper died after unidentified suspects set his shop on fire. Police identified the victim as Kifayatullah, a resident of Sanni, who suffered fatal burn injuries in the incident.
